In Virginia politics, non-candidate political action committees (PACs) have received $188.4 million in total donations between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021. The top 10 PACs raised more than $111.3 million, or 59 percent of all donations made to state-level PACs.

In Virginia, voters will be heading to the polls tomorrow to elect their new governor, replacing the term-limited Democrat Governor Ralph Northam. The former swing state has been trending Democratic in recent election cycles, but this election is expected to be the closest statewide election in Virginia in recent memory. 

New campaign finance filings for Virginia state legislative races show Democrats leading Republicans in fundraising. Between January 1, 2020, and October 21, 2021, Democratic candidates outraised Republican candidates by 143 percent.
