In Virginia politics, state-level candidates and political action committees have received $465.5 million in total donations between January 1, 2020, and December 31, 2021. The 10 largest donors gave more than $17.2 million, or 4 percent of all contributions.

Across the 10 states included in Transparency USA’s database, several prominent women dominated donor lists in the 2020 election cycle. Some, like Karla Jurvetson and Deborah Simon, targeted key state-level elections across multiple swing states.
