In Wisconsin, voters are heading to the polls this November to decide a number of important legislative and judicial races. Throughout these campaigns, donors have been shelling out money to help their favorite candidates get across the finish line. Who are the top donors backing the candidates running in the Badger State? Here is a look at the top ten state-level donors in Wisconsin.

1. Diane Hendricks – $2,974,125.00

According to Forbes, Hendricks chairs ABC Supply, one of the nation’s largest wholesale distributors of roofing, siding, and windows. Hendricks’ top contribution was in the amount of $2,900,000 to the Republican Party of Wisconsin.

2. Karla Jurvetson – $2,819,000.00

Jurvetson is a psychiatrist and Democrat mega-donor who has backed Democratic candidates and causes across the country. Her top contribution went in the amount of $2,800,000 to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

3. JB Pritzker – $2,490,000.00

JB Pritzker is the Governor of Illinois and a businessman, who is the co-founder of the Pritzker Group. Pritzker has made a single contribution in Wisconsin, which went in the amount of $2,490,000 to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

4. Republican State Leadership Committee – $2,143,060.53

The Republican State Leadership Committee bills itself as the “largest caucus of Republican state leaders in the nation.” This nationwide group made the list with $2,143,060.53 in contributions to the Republican State Leadership Committee – Judicial Fairness Initiative in Wisconsin.

5. Miriam and Chris Abele – $1,072,000.00

Chris Abele is the former county executive for Milwaukee County, serving from 2011 until May 2020. The Abeles have contributed to a number of candidates and committees in Wisconsin, with the largest contribution going to Leadership MKE in the amount of $950,000, an independent expenditure committee based out of Milwaukee County.

6. Sage Weil – $1,036,500.00

Sage Weil is the founder and chief architect of Ceph. A donor to a number of candidates and causes in Wisconsin, Weil’s top contribution went in the amount of $1,030,000 to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

7. Elise Lawson – $1,036,500.00

Dr. Elise Lawson is a colon and rectal surgeon based in Madison, Wisconsin. Lawson’s sole contribution went in the amount of $1,036,500 to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

8. Elizabeth Uihlein – $991,000.00

Elizabeth Uihlein is a prominent Republican mega donor and the president of Uline Inc, a shipping supplies company. Uihlein has donated to numerous candidates and committees, but her top contribution in Wisconsin went to the Republican Assembly Campaign Committee (RACC) in the amount of $800,000. 

9. Reid Hoffman – $1,000,000.00

Reid Hoffman is a prominent Democrat fundraiser and founder of LinkedIn, a business-centered social networking platform. Hoffman’s lone contribution in Wisconsin went in the amount of $850,000 to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

10. Michael Sacks – $670,000.00

Michael J. Sacks is the chairman and CEO of Grosvenor Capital Management, a Chicago, Illinois-based alternative asset management firm. Sacks’ sole contribution in Wisconsin went in the amount of $670,000 to the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.
