Michigan’s Top 10 State-Level Donors

by Transparency USA
09/15/2020

Before 2016, Michigan was largely considered behind the “blue wall” of key states that reliably voted in favor of the Democratic Presidential ticket. After Donald Trump’s narrowly-won upset flipped the state red in the last presidential election, the outcome at all levels feels far less assured. In state politics, Michigan’s government is split, with a Democratic Governor in Gretchen Whitmire, and Republicans controlling both chambers of the state legislature.

With so much at stake this cycle, here are the donors who have contributed the most to state-level candidates in Michigan. Click on any donor’s name to see an expanded profile detailing each candidate the donors have given to, including how much and when.

1. Karla T. Jurvetson – $900,000.00

2. Maria and Doug Devos – $699,700.00

3. Richard M Devos Jr – $621,150.00

4. Suzanne Cheryl Devos – $460,200.00

5. Daniel Devos – $437,950.00

6. Ronald Weiser – $378,425.00

7. John Kennedy III – $369,100.00

8. Peter Secchia – $271,050.00

9. Matthew T Moroun – $253,225.00

10. Sean Cotton – $226,500.00
