Less than one year into a new administration, speculation is already in full swing for the 2024 presidential election. While no politician seems to have escaped the rumor mill, political spectators have honed in on two prominent state leaders who may be positioning themselves for a spot on the Republican ticket.   

Texas State Senate District 30 has captured the attention of political spectators across the entire state, as two candidates with markedly different backgrounds vie for the seat in a special runoff election. Early voting began December 9 for the December 19 election.

Texas candidates just filed their semiannual campaign finance reports, giving voters a behind-the-scenes look into their fundraising as they head into the final stretch before the November elections.
