In Michigan, the Democratic State Central Committee has raised more than any other non-candidate political action committee (PAC) in the 2022 election cycle so far. According to the most recent campaign finance reports filed with the Michigan Secretary of State, the Democratic State Central Committee raised $3.74 million and spent $26.18 million between Jan. 1, 2021 and Dec. 31, 2021.

In Michigan politics, non-candidate political action committees (PACs) have received $51.0 million in total donations between January 1, 2021, and November 22, 2021. The top 10 PACs raised more than $21.0 million, or 41 percent of all donations made to state-level PACs.

In Michigan last week, voters in Senate Districts 8 and 28 elected new members in special elections. The special elections for the two seats came up this year after the Republican incumbents holding the seats resigned to take other positions. Republican candidates in both races held onto the seats for their party, allowing the Republican delegation to maintain its makeup in the Michigan Senate heading into the 2022 election cycle.
